Position Details:
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: Ongoing
- Shift Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Only
- Practice Setting: Outpatient only (Inpatient not required)
- Patients per Shift: 14-16 patients daily
- Support Staff: Includes 5 Medical Assistants and 1 PA/NP
- EMR System: EPIC
Required Skills:
- Procedures:
- Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, varices injection)
- ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic)
- Colonoscopy (with biopsy and excision of polyps)
- Sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid)
- Esophageal dilatation/manometry
- Small bowel biopsy
- Liver biopsy
- Insertion/management of Sengstaken-Blakemore tube
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and treat a variety of liver and gastrointestinal cases, including more complex patients.
- Conduct in-clinic procedures such as Pill Cam interpretation, PEG tube exchange, Hemoccult tests, and Lidocaine injections.
- Engage in routine clinic responsibilities like pathology reviews, new patient referrals, and addressing PA questions (direct supervision not required).
Certifications & Licensing:
- Required Certifications: Board Certified in Gastroenterology, ACLS, BLS
- License: Must be licensed in Washington State or have an active Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) license.
