Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. **Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.** **Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract * * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * * Department: Med Surg / Ortho Certifications Required: BLS* ****will not approve blocked scheduling unless it's weekends only, I can ask. They also will not take duos that want same schedule or share car. - # of Beds: 22- average daily census of 6 - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Total knee replacements, total hip replacements, ankle replacements, total shoulders, spines- back and neck - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Pain medications, antibiotics, blood - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes, 1:13 - Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Tele boxes. Tele techs will read and interpret. - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0630-1830, 1830-0630 // self scheduling with cyclic rotation - Weekend Requirement: Every other - Holiday Requirement: Rotate in with perm staff - Floating Requirements: MedSurg, rehab, or PCU taking MedSurg acuity - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 day - Additional Notes: Attributes that help a nurse be successful on this unit are being team oriented, helping teammates, being flexible, taking ownership within the department, and have a willingness to learn Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
