JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Physician Psychiatry Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: San Jose, CA Service Setting: Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: 01/01/2026 Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: Flexible; 1216 hrs/week within MonFri, 8:30a5p; Onsite at least 1 day/week COVERAGE DATES 01/01/2026 Ongoing PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Ages 5+; Developmentally disabled patients with mental health disorders Patient Volume/Census: 610 clients per 7.5-hour day depending on visit type Admissions: No Phone Consults: Yes, via telehealth as needed Case Mix: Anxiety Disorder, Intermittent Explosive Disorder, Depression, Disruptive Mood Disorder, OCD, Schizoaffective Disorder, Bipolar Disorder; small fraction involves JV220 forms FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Avatar NX Office Equipment Available: Standard outpatient clinic equipment Specialty Backup Available: Medical director, nurses, clinicians, case managers Support Staff Available: Interdisciplinary clinic team Reason for Coverage: Growth PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: No Temporary Privileges Available: No Credentialing Timeline: 3040 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Travel and lodging not covered; malpractice covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES Psychiatric assessments and evaluations Medication management, including controlled substances Mental status examinations (MSEs) JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active CA State License Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible (Certification required within 5 years of residency) DEA: Required; authorized to prescribe controlled substances Certifications: Flu vaccination; COVID vaccination or approved exemption Experience: Ability to treat developmental disability + mental health population Other Qualifications: Must enter hours in Vemsta platform; strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse populations DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Perform psychiatri
