Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Oncology position requiring a WY or compact RN license and strong med/surg skills.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a medical oncology unit within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes oncology and hematology patients across all age groups, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- 12-hour day shifts are required
- May be required to float to other nursing units based on staffing and patient needs
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for oncology patients, including medication and chemotherapy administration, patient assessment, and care planning
- Develop and revise care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Educate patients and families about conditions and treatment options
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a safe, compliant environment
- Strong team collaboration and communication skills are essential
- Must maintain all required continuing education and certifications for duration of assignment
Requirements
- Active Wyoming (WY) or compact state RN license required
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current certifications as required by hospital policy, including BLS and others as applicable
- Medical/surgical nursing experience preferred
- Ability to administer chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification may be required)
- Demonstrated skills in patient assessment, care planning, and implementation
- Experience with electronic medical records and proficient computer skills
