Seeking a BC/BE Forensic/Autopsy Pathologist to join our team in Greenville, NC. Highlights: Employed, Academic position Applicants should be board certified by the American Board of Pathology in either anatomic pathology or anatomic and clinical pathology and if not already certified in forensic pathology, are expected to obtain certification within one year of hire Knowledge of principles, practices, techniques, and advances in the field of forensic pathology and medicolegal death investigation is necessary Hospital privileges Established program with two forensic pathologists and one pathologist assistant Autopsy Center completes 600 -650 medical examiner autopsies and 500-550 external examinations annually Clinical responsibilities: Reviewing investigative reports to determine jurisdiction Determining the need for and extent of postmortem examination Direction of assistants in preparing bodies for autopsy including appropriate photography for documentation Performing autopsies and obtaining appropriate specimens for laboratory analysis Performing microscopic analysis when appropriate. Determination of cause and manner of death. Preparation and completion of reports of findings in a timely manner.
