An Orthopedic Surgeon provides surgical care for orthopedic trauma, elective joint replacements, and pediatric fractures in both inpatient and outpatient settings at a Level 3 Trauma Center. The role includes rotating call coverage, inpatient rounding, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams while utilizing Epic EMR for patient management. Candidates require an active state medical license and should be skilled in managing a variety of orthopedic conditions including trauma, hand injuries, and joint arthroplasty.
JOB OVERVIEW

• Service Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient
• Coverage Type: Clinical + Call
• Coverage Period: Immediate start 08/31/2025
• Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 8 AM 5 PM, with possible late afternoon add-ons; potential weekend rounding and patient call
• On-Call Shift Schedule: 6 days per week unless all 7 are requested
• Call Type: Rotating day coverage for ED trauma cases, possible weekend patient/floor call and rounding

• Patient Volume/Census: 3-5 cases per day in OR, 20-25 patients per day in clinic

REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• Fracture care & orthopedic trauma
• Elective total joint replacements (hip and knee arthroplasty)
• Closed reductions for pediatric cases
• Hand trauma stabilization, including evaluation for compartment syndrome and flexor tenosynovitis
• Hip fracture management (subtrochanteric, intertrochanteric, hemiarthroplasty)
• Application of spanning external fixators for ankle, pilon, and plateau fractures
• Open fracture debridement and stabilization
• Nonoperative management of acetabular and pelvic fractures

• Perform surgical interventions for fractures and trauma cases
• Conduct inpatient rounding and outpatient clinical assessments
• Manage emergency orthopedic cases in a Level 3 Trauma Center setting
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including mid-level providers and specialty consultants
• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and patient management
• Participate in rotating call schedule for ED trauma cases and inpatient needs
