The Computer Tomography Technologist performs independent CT imaging procedures, managing patient scheduling and ensuring quality work in a healthcare setting. This role requires professional certification and licensure, along with a minimum of two years of specialized CT experience. The technologist also maintains effective communication with patients, medical staff, and supervisors while adhering to clinical and institutional standards.
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and ingenuity. Makes independent value judgments when supervision is not available. Assumes responsibility for achieving quality work, setting up patient load and maintaining schedules. Has individual responsibility for all CT procedures. Performs assigned duties promptly and efficiently. Complies with instructions from the supervisor to whom responsible. Maintains good working relationship with co-workers and other University Health employees, patients, doctors, and guests.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Licensed by the State of Texas (MRT) is required. Advanced certification in CT is preferred. CT technologists who are not advanced certified, are required to have documentation that they have participated in education that prepares them to achieve advanced CT certification. Two years of CT experience is required. Must meet and maintain the clinical ladder requirements for this specialty.
