Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work night shifts 3x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• 19-bed Med Surg unit on Floor 2 with acuity-based patient ratios, maximum 1:5 for Med Surg patients
• Care for pediatric and adult patients ages 0-100+ including post-op orthopedic, ski trauma, fractures, total joints, GYN surgical cases
• Handle patients with chest tubes, surgical drains, wound care, and telemetry monitoring
• 2 years of experience required with Med Surg and Pediatric Med Surg experience preferred
• Must have strong orthopedic and post-operative care skills
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Responsible for titrating drips including Heparin and initiating pressors for critical patients
• Mix medications and perform rhythm recognition and interpretation
• Charge nurse responsibilities rotated among staff with 2-3 patient assignments when needed
• Work with 1-2 CNAs on days, 1 on nights, plus virtual care team support
• 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• Weekend and holiday requirements equitably distributed with core staff
• Self-scheduling with core staff
• May be required to float as helping hands or safety attendant
• Call requirement twice per contract
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Epic charting system used
• Must live outside 50-mile radius of facility
