- Unit: B4 PCU (Medical Progressive Care Unit – near ICU acuity)
- Assignment Type: Travel RN Contract
- Start Date: January 5, 2026
- End Date: April 6, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
- Staffing Ratios: 1:5
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana or compact state)
- Minimum 18 months recent experience in PCU, Stepdown, IMC, or DOU nursing jobs (2 years preferred)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Proficient in titrating cardiac drips, IV management, and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience in trauma-designated facilities (Level I-IV) preferred
- Ability to float to Med-Surg, ICU, and other hospital units
- Willingness to precept or be shadowed by nursing students in a teaching hospital
- Graduate of ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two supervisor references required
- Deliver high-quality patient care to adults and geriatrics with complex medical conditions (multi-organ failure, liver failure, pulmonary issues)
- Administer and titrate cardiac drips; manage stable ventilators and near-ICU acuity patients
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
- Start and maintain IVs; manage central and peripheral lines; follow heparin and IV insulin protocols
- Provide tracheostomy care and non-invasive airway management
- Float to Med-Surg, ICU, and other units as needed
- Escort patients for procedures as required
- Participate in charge nurse duties and precepting responsibilities
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital policies
