Opportunity:
Physician - Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology
Job Details:
• Locum tenens position with approximately 5 hour shifts per month through the end of 2026
• 7am-7am shift coverage required for specific dates throughout 2026
• Active Missouri medical license required due to urgent start date
• 0-6 patient encounters per shift
• Board certification required with ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications
• No mid-level support available
• Skills required include upper and lower GI endoscopy with various procedures (biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration, injection of varices)
• Must be proficient with PEG procedures, esophageal dilatation/manometry and interpretation
• Skilled in performing and interpreting sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid) and colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision
• Liver biopsy and Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertion/management required
• Small bowel biopsy capabilities needed
• ERCP and EUS are not required for hospital ED/call and clinic call
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 30-90 days
