Sign-on bonus and travel stipend available for IMCU RNs. IMCU RN, nights (7P shift), Birmingham, AL — travel or local contract (typically 8–13 weeks). Provide intermediate critical care for patients with sepsis, renal/liver failure, respiratory distress, cancer, GI bleeds, etc. - Active RN license (AL or compact) required
- 2+ years acute care/IMCU or step-down experience
- ACLS required; BLS required
- Competent with assessments, IV meds, telemetry monitoring
- Ability to work 7P shifts and communicate with MDs/families

Responsibilities Intermediate Care Unit RNs (IMCU RNs) treat patients who are suffering from serious conditions, such as diabetes mellitus, electrolyte imbalances, renal failure, liver failure, gastrointestinal bleeds, blood disorders, cancer, sepsis, respiratory distress or multi-system organ failure. IMCU RN job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assess each patient’s needs individually and collect relevant data, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pain levels, according to the facility’s prescribed procedure
Perform physician-prescribed treatments and communicate effectively with patients, families, and physicians, being an advocate for the patient
Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examination and treatment of patients Shift: 7P
