This position is for a full-time Hematology/Oncology Physician at the Veterans Health Administration in Stockton, CA, providing care to veteran patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The role involves diagnosing and treating blood disorders and cancers, administering therapies such as chemotherapy, performing medical procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Location: Stockton, CA
Salary Range: 242,000-336,000
Work Schedule: Full-time
The Hematology/Oncology Physician will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to veteran patients in an outpatient and inpatient setting. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Diagnosing and treating blood disorders and cancers.
- Administering chemotherapy and other oncologic therapies.
- Participating in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
- Participating in clinical research and medical education activities.
- Performing bone marrow biopsies and other relevant procedures.
Basic Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Completed residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
Preferred Experience:
- Board certification in Hematology and/or Oncology.
- Experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Prior experience working with veterans is highly desirable.
