American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a CT or compact RN license and trauma center experience in a large facility.
Responsibilities- Work in the Emergency Department of a short-term acute care hospital
- Level I Trauma Center environment with a large patient population
- Average patient ratio is 1:6 on days, nights, and weekends
- Assigned to one campus with potential for floating and cross training to other campuses as needed
- Travelers do not work in trauma/rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health units
- 12-hour day shifts (7:00 to 19:00) with every other weekend required
- EMR system used is Epic and experience is preferred
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travelers may be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Up to 7 days of requested time off is permitted without additional approval; more than 7 days requires approval
- If calling out on a scheduled weekend shift, the RN must make up the shift as described by department policy
- Returning former permanent staff must have been gone at least 2 years to be considered
- No local candidates permitted within 75 miles, except for specific modalities not including this role
- Parking is available at a monthly cost
- Active CT or compact RN license required; pending license accepted if application is in process
- Current certifications required: TNCC, ACLS, and BLS
- At least 1.5 years of Emergency Department experience at a similar large trauma facility required, 2 years preferred
- Must have experience working in a Trauma Center at a large facility
- No prior disciplinary actions on nursing license
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted; COVID-19 vaccine and booster required with only religious or medical exemptions allowed
