The Urology Physician provides general urology care including clinic visits, surgeries, and on-call responsibilities, covering a fast-paced and busy department. The role involves performing various urologic procedures such as cystoscopy, prostate biopsies, and nephrectomies, with a typical patient load of 20-25 per day and 20-30 surgeries per month. Candidates are preferred to be board certified or eligible, hold an active medical license, and be able to commit to locum coverage starting March 2026 with comprehensive call duties.
Coverage Needed:
- Start Date: March 2, 2026
- End Date: Ongoing
- Schedule: Clinic 8a-4p, Night call 5p-8a, 24-hour call 7a-7a (1:6)
- Minimum of 3 months of locum coverage required
- 5-6 days of call plus clinic minimum
- Dates of coverage:
- March 2-6, 9-13, 16-20, 30-31
- April 1-3, 6-10, 13-17, 20-24
- May 4-8, 11-15, 25-29
- June 1-5, 8-12, 22-26, 29-30
- July onwards: every week open
Clinical Details:
- Setting: Clinic and call
- Duties: General urology care in clinic and on call, including Cystoscopy, vasectomies, prostate biopsy, TURP, uroflow/cuff, bladder scans, Ureteroscopy, nephrectomy, Cystectomy, ESWL, Botox injections, rounding, and OR
- Required Procedures: Bread and butter urology, robot available (robotic procedures not required)
- Patients per day: 20-25
- Number of surgeries: 20-30 per month
- Call Volume: 20% consults, 80% callback
- Provider may take hospital call during clinic hours
- Admissions: Hospitalist team present
- Rounding: Locum will round
- EMR: Epic
- Support Staff: 2 RNs, MA, Surgery Scheduler, and 2 front office staff
- Will be sole provider in a fast paced/busy dept
Requirements:
- Board Certified Urology - Highly Preferred
- or Truly Board Eligible (0-5 years upon residency completion)
- Active WA license - Highly Preferred
- or IMLC (LOQ in hand)
- Active ACLS, BLS, DEA
- will consider a candidate that does not have ACLS or BLS in hand but will obtain if selected
- Ability to cover about 80% of the dates detailed (3-4 weeks)
- Clean Malpractice - Highly Preferred
