Job Details:

• Work 36/48 hour weekly schedule on Med Surg unit
• Patient ratio of 1:5 for all shifts (days, nights, weekends)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Weekend coverage may be required depending on census and staff availability
• Float within scope to meet facility needs as required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, NIH, OCN
• No on-call responsibilities
• 24-hour orientation provided
• Must wear black scrubs
• Use Cerner charting system
• Free parking available
• Overtime must be pre-approved by client (approval is rare)
• Required skills include: colostomy care, feeding tube management, pre/post hemodialysis management, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV starts, heparin/insulin administration, PCA, surgical drains, chest tubes, tracheostomy management, wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions
• Care for patients with diagnoses including: DM, CHF, alcohol withdrawal, post-op infections, HTN, AMS, COVID, FLU/RSV, cellulitis, COPD exacerbation, abdominal pain
• Work with equipment including: telemetry monitors, NG tubes, wound vacs, Kangaroo pumps
• RTO restrictions apply - greater than 7 days requires approval
• No locals within 75-mile radius accepted
• Must have valid non-local driver's license

Facility:

This community-based hospital operates with 60 total staffed beds and maintains a 24-bed Med Surg unit with an average daily census of 22 patients. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary services. The hospital serves adult and geriatric patient populations and emphasizes quality patient care with modern equipment and technology to support diverse medical needs.
