American Traveler is hiring a NICU RN with at least 1 year of Level IV NICU experience and proficiency with Epic for a night shift assignment.
Responsibilities- Work in a 26-bed Level IV NICU caring for critically ill newborns and infants
- Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00pm-7:30am
- Required to work 2-3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period
- Serve a diverse population including post-op patients and those requiring advanced respiratory support such as g-tube, trach, and ventilator management
- Epic EMR experience required within the last 12 months
- Floating is expected, with travelers first to float to multiple units or locations as needed
- Care for medically complex and surgical neonatal patients requiring a wide range of advanced services
- Work in a Magnet-designated, family-centered pediatric environment
- Pass/fail telemetry testing required before starting the assignment, with strict criteria for passing
- One-week orientation provided onsite prior to starting in the unit
- Holiday and weekend rotation expected based on unit guidelines
- First-time travelers may be accepted depending on unit
- Specific dress code and scrub information will be provided during onboarding
- Active Wisconsin or compact state RN license in hand at the time of application
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- NRP certification required
- Minimum of 2 years total NICU III/IV experience with at least 1 full year in Level IV NICU
- Inpatient RN travelers must have 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in NICU specialty
- Experience with post-op care, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and invasive/noninvasive ventilation required
- Proficiency in basic arrhythmia interpretation and telemetry with required pass of a telemetry test prior to start
- Epic charting system experience required
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility; locals not accepted
