Job Description:

The MS/Tele RN provides nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical-surgical and telemetry needs. The role includes comprehensive assessment, monitoring, and management of patients with cardiac, medical, and post-surgical conditions.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum 2 years MS/Tele; first-time travelers accepted

Local rule: Locals under 50 miles are not allowed.
Licensure/Certifications:
- MD RN License
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- CPI
Schedule: 36 hours/week; must work every other weekend
Holidays: Required as scheduled
On-call: Not required

Unit Details:

Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric
Patient Ratio: 1:5
Common Diagnoses:
- CHF, Chest Pain
- Cellulitis, Osteomyelitis
- Pancreatitis
- Post-amputation care
- Small bowel obstruction
- Afib & other dysrhythmias
- Cancer, Palliative care
Special Procedures:
- EKGs
- Drips: Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Lasix ( non-titratable; parameters only )
Special Equipment:
- Telemetry monitoring
- Monitor techs
- IV pumps
- O2 therapy
- Pulse oximetry
- Vital sign machines
- SCDs
- Bed/chair alarms
- Chest tubes, Foley catheters

Floating:

Required within specialty areas and to lower acuity units as needed.
