American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with strong trauma experience and required certifications for a 39-bed mixed ICU assignment.
Responsibilities- Work in a 39-bed mixed ICU with MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU pods
- Patient population includes complex surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases
- Diagnoses include ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, post-cardiac cath, post-surgical, and multi-system trauma
- RN-to-patient ratios are 1:1, 1:2, or rarely 1:3 depending on acuity
- Cardiac cases such as CABG/TAVR (24–48 hrs post-op) experience is preferred
- Use of Epic charting system is required in the ICU
- 12-hour day shifts with weekend rotation every other weekend (not guaranteed)
- Floating to other adult floors may occur if overstaffed, including Medsurg/Tele
- Work with a multidisciplinary support team including CNA, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, midline/IV support, and intensivists
- Orientation includes hospital orientation plus one 12-hour and one 8-hour shift on the ICU unit
- Up to 7 days of time off may be approved, but no RTO during holidays or the first 3 weeks in August
- Scrubs must be navy
- Facility provides free parking
- Active SD or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years ICU experience (excluding travel) preferred; 1.5 years ICU experience with significant RN experience outside ICU may be considered
- Must have completed one prior travel assignment; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC (must be obtained before arrival if not already held)
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Experience with IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics), hemodynamic lines, ventilator management, proning, and telemetry
- Impella, IABP, and CRRT experience strongly preferred
- Must reside at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facility
- Former permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
