Job Details:
• Dual responsibilities include CT and Diagnostic Radiology
• Position and adjust equipment, immobilization and support devices for patients
• Determine appropriate radiographic technique based on anatomy and patient condition
• Secure patient history regarding reason for prescribed test and record on appropriate forms
• Competently position patients for all exams and perform problem solving related to physical limitations
• Follow appropriate scanning protocols per Radiologist instructions
• Perform image reviews to determine if additional views are necessary to complete exams
• Select and adjust technical factors governing the imaging process
• Identify artifacts on film and assist in problem solving
• Communicate normal and abnormal anatomy findings to Radiologist
• Evaluate CT orders for appropriateness using ACR Appropriateness Criteria
• Operate equipment competently in CT and Digital x-ray modalities
• Modify technical factors as situations warrant
• Perform start-up and shut down procedures on all equipment
• Ensure images are properly labeled and marked
• Inspect equipment daily during use and report malfunctions
• Maintain compliance with radiation safety procedures for all assigned patients
• Document patient care according to departmental standards
