Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab assignment requiring cath lab experience and a VA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a hospital Cardiac Cath Lab setting
- Shifts are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Call required 8-10 days per month including every third weekend, with call duration ranging from 15 to 62 hours
- Care provided for cardiac catheterization patients, with possible procedures including IABP, Impella, rotational athrectomy, shockwave, temporary pacemakers, IVUS, and iFR
- May float to Interventional Radiology (IR) and Electrophysiology (EP) departments
- EPIC EMR experience is preferred
- Must be able to respond to STEMI call backs in less than 30 minutes during on-call shifts
- Functions independently as both a scrub nurse and circulator
- Pass/fail EKG testing required on the first day, with two attempts allowed and study guides provided
- Responsible for conducting and analyzing patient assessments, creating care plans, and implementing treatments
- Expected to coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members and provide support for patients and families
- Works within the nursing process framework and adheres to established protocols and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in cardiac cath lab, telemetry, critical care, ER, or OR is required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience with conscious sedation and critical care required
- NIH Stroke certification preferred
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
