Position Details Specialty: General Surgeon with a focus on Breast Oncology or Fellowship-Trained Breast Surgeon. Start Date: February 1, 2025. Schedule: Monday through Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) in the clinic. Operating Room schedule dependent on block availability. Beeper call after clinic hours, including potential 24-hour weekend call. Call volumes are low, with approximately one call per day. Patient Load: 12-15 patients per shift. Key Responsibilities Perform oncology-focused breast surgeries, including: Mastectomies (nipple-sparing included). Lumpectomies. Sentinel node biopsies and axillary dissections. Participation in joint oncoplastic surgeries. Manage high-risk and benign breast conditions as well as survivorship care. Qualifications Licensure: Must hold a valid California medical license. Experience: Minimum of 100 breast surgeries performed within the last two years (case logs required). Certification: Board Certification in General Surgery is required. Skills: Proficient in handling oncology-focused procedures; no requirement for cosmetic breast surgeries (e.g., reductions or augmentations). Additional Information EMR System: Epic. Credentialing timeframe: Approximately 60-90 days. No supervision of advanced practice providers or teaching responsibilities required.
