Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of Interventional Radiology procedures, including thoracentesis, paracentesis, nephrostomy tubes, intra-abdominal abscess drainage, chest tubes, and suprapubic catheters.
- Conduct CT/US biopsies (thyroid, lung, etc.), barium studies, and lumbar punctures.
- Interpret stroke CT scans and other acute care imaging studies for emergency department and ICU patients.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, technicians, and referring physicians to ensure optimal patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the Cerner electronic medical record system.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and current California medical license required
- Board certification in Interventional Radiology (or a related specialty) mandatory
- Active DEA registration required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification a must
- Proven experience performing a variety of IR procedures and interpreting acute care imaging studies
- Excellent clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and hand-eye coordination
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
