Job Details:

• 1:5 patient ratio
• 2 years of experience required, previous charge and teaching hospital experience preferred
• 8 weekend shifts required in 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Float to all MSI units including ED for inpatient holds
• Work with adult and geriatric patients in 31-bed unit
• 12 hours orientation provided
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• Maximum 7 days request time off
• Must have Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact license
• 2 references required from past year (one supervisor level, one can be charge RN)
• Skills include cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, phlebotomy, wound care, respiratory care, medication administration including cardiac drips and heparin protocols
• Experience with chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy management
• Post-cardiac procedures, hemodialysis management, and total joint replacement care
• Complete pre-start Epic training modules and infusion pump/glucometer training

This healthcare organization operates a progressive care unit providing intermediate-level care for patients requiring more intensive monitoring than general medical units but less than intensive care. The facility features comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The organization utilizes Epic charting system and maintains modern equipment to support complex patient care needs in a 31-bed progressive care environment.
