Assignment Details:- Onsite only
- No call responsibilities
- Reason for coverage: Recruitment gap
Volume & Support:- Patients per day: 80 total
- Physicians average 1.8 patients/hour
- Staff Support: 12-hour APP coverage, full ED nursing + tech support, full radiology, full lab
- EMR: Cerner
Procedures/Skills Required:- Adult and pediatric outpatient care
- Newborn resuscitation
- Non-displaced orthopedic fractures
- Minor laceration repair
- Incision & Drainage
- Psychiatric (uncomplicated adult, child/adolescent, geriatric)
- Management of industrial-related medical problems
- Airway management and ventilation for up to 24 hours
- Evaluation/management of acute BP/volume issues
- Central line, arterial line
- EKG interpretation
- Arthrocentesis
- Lumbar puncture
- Paracentesis
- Broad emergency medicine procedures
Qualifications:- Board Certified (no BE)
- IM or FM accepted with 2+ years of recent ED experience
- Michigan license required at time of clearance (no IMLC accepted)
- ACLS, BLS, PALS required. If a provider is ABEM or AOBEM only the ATLS is required. FM/IM are required to have both ATLCS
- Local provider only - no exceptions
- Must have clean background for quick credentialing - no exceptions
