ICU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Peoria, IL 61605 (Central Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Setting: High Acuity Intensive Care Unit (8 beds)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm – 7:00am), rotating weekends and holidays
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) position
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Dress Code: Scrubs (any color); OSF-approved t-shirts permitted

ICU RN Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or proof of application in process)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• Experience with PEG tube care/feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline usage and care, and tracheostomy patient care
• Proficient in managing sedated and ventilated patients, titrating vasopressors, sedation, and pain control drips
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips; experience with Phillips telemetry monitors is a plus
• Must pass a comprehensive drug screen (OSF is a Drug-Free Campus)

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit
• Manage and titrate a variety of IV drips, including Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levophed, Dopamine, Cardizem, and more
• Perform PEG tube care/feedings, manage central lines, and provide tracheostomy care
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including respiratory therapists and tele-health physicians
• Float to the Medical-Surgical unit as needed
• Participate in a rotating schedule for weekends and holidays
• Complete orientation and unit-specific training as required
