American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN in Alaska, requiring an AK RN license and strong cultural sensitivity.
Responsibilities- Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital
- Typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:4
- Patient population includes complex cases with significant social histories and domestic violence
- Shift is 4x12 hours, day shift
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- No floating required
- EMR: Cerner, experience preferred
- Unit requires strong cultural sensitivity to the Alaska Native population
- Daily responsibilities include caring for patients with complex medical and social needs
- Must be able to demonstrate cultural sensitivity with the Alaska Native population
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Holiday coverage is required with the possibility of working up to 3 out of 4 major holidays
- Maximum of one week RTO allowed, but must be made up at the end of contract
- Free parking in the hospital parking structure
- Active AK RN license required prior to start (compact accepted for consideration, but AK license required to begin)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER RN experience required
- Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, PALS, and TNCC
- Not open to local candidates living within 100 miles
- Navy scrubs required
