Med/Surg RN Job Details

• End Date: March 14, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12 Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800 - $1840

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nursys verification required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Compliance with healthcare onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, immunizations, etc.)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate patient care and maintain a professional image in the medical-surgical unit
• Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical examination, and data analysis
• Implement nursing interventions according to care plans and physician orders
• Conduct hourly rounds utilizing the 4 P's
• Promote an environment of caring, compassion, and respect
• Utilize health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff
• Provide clinical support for central lines, chest tubes, catheters, pressure ulcers, restraints, and high fall risk patients
• Precept and mentor new nursing staff
• Participate in hospital initiatives and evidence-based practices
• Engage in ongoing professional development and educational opportunities
• Ensure proper storage and safety of medications
• Perform other nursing duties as assigned
