Location: Birmingham, AL (Hybrid)
We are partnering with a national insurance brokerage to hire an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to join their growing Birmingham team. This role supports a diverse book of mid-to-large commercial accounts and offers a collaborative, professional environment with opportunities to grow.
About the Role
As the Account Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day service and retention of an assigned book of business. You’ll work closely with Producers, Account Executives, carriers, and clients to ensure exceptional service delivery and smooth account operations.
This position is ideal for someone with strong commercial P&C experience who enjoys problem-solving, client interaction, and managing complex accounts.
What You’ll Do
- Manage daily servicing needs for assigned commercial accounts.
- Review contracts for insurance requirements and help interpret coverage needs.
- Partner with carriers and underwriters to gather information and resolve issues.
- Process policies, endorsements, certificates, audits, cancellations, and invoicing.
- Review policy documents for accuracy and coordinate corrections as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation in agency management systems.
- Provide occasional support with marketing new and renewal business.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of commercial P&C insurance experience.
- Active P&C license
- Strong knowledge across major lines (GL, WC, Auto, Property, E&O, D&O, etc.).
- Excellent communication, organization, and client service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Book of Business
- 25–35 accounts
- Generalist commercial mix, with meaningful exposure to manufacturing
- Revenue range: approx. $1.5M–$2.5M
- Common carrier partners include Travelers, Chubb, and Cincinnati
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $70,000–$80,000 (open to $90,000 for strong experience)
- Bonus: Up to 10% annually
- Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, PTO, 401(k), and more)
- Hybrid schedule: 3/2 or 2/3 in-office
