The role is a locum tenens General Surgeon providing 24-hour on-call coverage primarily for unassigned emergency department patients at a hospital-based primary stroke center. The surgeon will consult on inpatients and assist with admissions but will not perform endoscopy, working alongside in-house PAs and hospitalists. Board certification is required unless within five years of training, with local candidates preferred for intermittent shifts.

I m getting the needed dates. We have 1/1 covered. I don t know if the next one is MLK Day, Good Friday/Easter weekend or Memorial Day weekend, but one of those would be next.
It s 7a-7a, a 24 hour shift. We have 6 general surgeons who will be covering their own patients, so this would only be for unassigned / ED patients.
Surgery only, no endoscopy.
May need to consult on inpatients. Fully hospitalist and ICU attending coverage, so they would only be consultants.
We have general surgery PAs who are in house the majority of the time.
