The Anesthesiology Physician will provide anesthesia services across three facilities in Fredericksburg, VA, including medical direction of CRNAs and performing solo cases. The role requires proficiency in various regional anesthesia techniques and the ability to work flexible schedules up to 50 hours per week. Candidates must hold an MD or DO, have an active Virginia license, and be skilled in complex procedures such as endoscopic vein harvesting and CABG.

- Full-Time/Flexible Schedule: We are seeking a full-time provider for 50 hours per week (Mon-Fri), with 40 hours guaranteed. You must be able to flex up to 50 hours. Weekend availability is a plus. We will also consider providers for 2-3 weeks per month or those interested in strictly weekends, night shifts, or night call.
- Float Pool Role: You will be credentialed for and float between 3 facilities
- Practice Model: The primary model is Medical Direction (1:3 CRNAs), but Anesthesiologists MUST be willing to do their own cases solo if requested (Dealbreaker).
- Diverse Cases: The case mix is vast, including open hearts, organ harvest (no transplants), healthy pediatrics, ortho, thoracic, OB, endo, and trauma.
- Procedures: MDs should be proficient in performing regional blocks (supraclavicular, popliteal, etc.)
- EMR System: The facility uses Epic for charting.
- Quick Privileging: The estimated credentialing timeframe is 90-120 days. Emergency privileges are available for quick starts.
- Provide anesthesia services across all three sites, covering main ORs, OB, Endoscopy, and IR.
- Engage in the medical direction of CRNAs (ratio 1:3).
- Must be willing to perform solo cases when scheduled or requested.
- Proficiently perform regional anesthesia techniques (blocks) as needed, especially at the Ambulatory Center.
- Work collaboratively with surgical and support staff in fast-paced environments.
- Education: MD or DO.
- Licensure: An active Virginia State License is required at the time of submittal.
- Commitment: Must be willing to work up to 50 hours per week (40 hours GTD) and be open to floating between all three facilities.
- Skills: Must be proficient in first-assisting, endoscopic vein harvesting, and CABG.
- Certifications: Must obtain AHA Certifications.
- The target start date is March 2, 2026.
