Job Details:
• 2+ years of current operating room experience required
• Circulating and operating room experience required
• Scrub experience preferred, including open heart scrubbing
• Strong cardiac, vascular, thoracic proficiency and general surgery experience required
• Experience in general, daVinci robotics, pediatrics, trauma, neurology, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular cases highly preferred
• EPIC electronic medical systems experience within previous 3 years required
• Trauma Level I experience highly preferred
• Must have completed a travel assignment within previous 12 months
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Average 35-50 cases per day with expectation for turnovers less than 20 minutes
• Work with 3 DaVinci robots, Stealth technology for neuro navigation, and primarily Synthes or Stryker for ortho trauma
• Float across all campuses required
• On-call schedule up to 2 overnight per week and 4 weekends per 13-week contract
• Weekend call schedule runs from Friday 5 PM through Monday 6:30 AM
• Scrubs provided
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Iowa nursing license required
Facility:
This healthcare facility operates as a Level I trauma center with 16 operating rooms, routinely running 12-14 suites while reserving space for trauma cases. The facility offers comprehensive surgical services including cardiac/PV, neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), robotics, gynecology, urology, general surgery, pediatrics, and transplants, with smaller volumes of ENT and plastic procedures. The organization utilizes advanced technology including DaVinci robotic systems and maintains high standards for patient care with quick case turnovers and modern equipment.
