Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a PCU RN with cardiovascular experience for night shifts at a large heart hospital, requiring a NM or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 55-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a heart hospital setting
- Primarily night shifts, 4x12 hours from 18:30 to 07:00
- Patient ratios are 1 RN to 4 patients
- Cardiovascular patient population
- Required to float to other units as needed
- Weekend shifts required on a rotating basis
- Option to work either 36 or 48 hours per week
- Uses Epic EMR, Epic experience is preferred
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Locals living within 50 miles are not eligible
- Former perm staff must be gone at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of requested time off approved automatically; no time off allowed during the first week of orientation
- Scrub color is any, but logos are not permitted
- No travel pairs or groups allowed
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- At least 1 year of recent PCU experience required, 2 years preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- CPI certification preferred
- Cardiovascular care experience required
- Epic documentation experience is preferred
