Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with an active state license and 3+ years of experience for a day shift rehabilitation therapy assignment.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a rehabilitation therapy setting, with a focus on long-term care or skilled nursing facility patients
• Works collaboratively with residents, care providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Day shift schedule
• Involves performing both evaluative and therapeutic procedures under physician orders
• Requires electronic medical record documentation of all therapeutic interactions
• Responsibilities include developing and modifying therapeutic plans of care and establishing both short- and long-term patient goals
• Provides instruction and education to residents and caregivers regarding equipment and therapy plans
• Supervises assistant-level staff as appropriate and offers mentorship to new team members
• Adheres to documentation standards for Medicare, Medicaid, and other reimbursement requirements
• Participates in team meetings and consults with physicians and other care team members regarding patient status and discharge needs
• Maintains cleanliness and infection control in clinical and office areas
• Department orientation and basic competencies provided during onboarding
• No COVID-19 vaccination is currently required for this position

Requirements

• Active state license as a Physical Therapist required if applicable
• Minimum 3 years of physical therapy experience required
• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy required; Master’s or Doctorate preferred
• BLS certification preferred
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills are essential
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks typical for the role
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care settings preferred
