The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for patient assessments, performing general and critical respiratory care procedures, blood gas analysis, equipment management, and patient education. The role requires an Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy, licensure by the National Board for Respiratory Care, and state certification, along with current BCLS and ACLS certifications. Experience in respiratory care or successful departmental orientation is necessary to ensure competency in patient care within adult critical care settings.

Responsibilities:RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Performing patient assessments, general respiratory care procedures and protocols, critical care procedures in adult care areas, blood gas analysis, maintenance and management of all equipment and patient education.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Previous Working Experience in Respiratory care, or successful completion of department specific orientation including skills validation of competencies for the duties and responsibilities of this level.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care and Licensed by the State of Georgia under the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS. Must be actively practicing and maintaining all required competencies.
