The Pediatrics Nurse Practitioner provides outpatient clinical care in a Federally Qualified Health Center, managing common pediatric cases such as vaccinations, illness treatment, and preventive health. The role involves patient education, participation in community health initiatives, and collaboration with medical and administrative staff to enhance care quality. Candidates must hold an advanced nursing degree, pediatric certification, state licensure, and preferably have experience in community health settings.
Role : Pediatric Nurse Practitioner OR Pediatrician MD/DO
- Schedule : M-F, 8 am - 5 pm
- Approx. PPD : 18
- Setting: Clinic/Outpatient in FQHC
- Walk in Clinic - Typical cases: Cold, Cough, Flu, Well and Sick Visits, Immunizations
- Start : As soon as credentialed (can take 2-4 weeks if already WA licensed)
Responsibilities and Duties
- The provider participates in preventive health programs such as immunization, disease detection and disease prevention activities. This includes education programs for patients and community groups in the service areas with the approval of the Medical Director and/or Health Center Administrator.
- The provider is expected to participate in clinical affairs, working with administrative personnel, the Medical Director and the Chief Medical Officer to improve the patient care experience.
- The provider assures accurate and timely completion of all clinical records; completion of paperwork in a team-based approach and necessary paperwork for patient care. (Epic EMR)
Schedule
- Monday thru Friday, 8AM - 5PM
Qualifications and Skills
- NP - Master s Degree, certified in Pediatrics, licensed in the State of Washington
- NP - Successful completion of an accredited Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Program (ARNP). Certified by the appropriate Nursing Certification Board (PNCB, FPNCB).
- A current DEA certificate required
- minimum of 2 years of experience
- prior experience in community health, FQHC or IHS is preferred
- Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred but not required
