Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in New York with charge experience and strong Epic skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital-based Med/Surg Tele unit
- Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:7
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, four 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required, if needed
- Assignment length is 13 weeks
- EMR in use is Epic; prior experience with Epic is required
- Floating within skillset may be required
- Must wear navy blue and white scrubs
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
- Time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted with initial application
- Team members expected to float to similar units based on skillset
Requirements
- Active New York single state RN license required; pending or compact licenses not accepted
- Minimum of 1 year RN experience, with recent acute care experience within the past 6 months
- BLS certification required
- Charge nurse experience required
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including dysrhythmia interpretation and rapid response activation
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management skills required
- Experience with nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
