Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:4-5, occasionally 1:5-6 on nights, PCU level care overflow 1:3
• 32-bed unit providing PCU stepdown care
• Must have PCU experience and ability to read cardiac strips
• Care for adults and geriatrics with cardiac conditions, post-cardiac cath patients, EP studies, pacers, ETOH withdrawal, COVID BiPap patients, general surgical with cardiac history, pneumonia, sepsis, and acute on chronic conditions
• Required to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, and low-dose Dopamine
• Must read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Floating requirements to all areas as helping hands, PCU for full patient load, medical/surgical for full assignment, and some ER holds/boarding
• 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation (12-hour shifts on Friday and Saturday of first week)
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• 50-mile radius rule applies
• First to float designation
