The CAT/CT Scan Technologist performs high-quality computerized tomographic imaging to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. This role involves obtaining patient history, preparing patients for scans, addressing concerns, and operating CT equipment to produce cross-sectional images of soft tissues, blood vessels, and bones. The technologist also performs a variety of specialized tasks integral to CT imaging.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform CT scans according to physician orders and imaging protocols
- Obtain and assess patient history; explain procedures and address questions
- Operate CT equipment to produce diagnostic cross-sectional images
- Monitor patient safety, comfort, and positioning throughout the scan
- Assist with contrast administration when applicable
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records
- Collaborate with radiologists and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality outcomes
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of experience as a CAT/CT Technologist preferred
- Appropriate and valid state licensure in diagnostic imaging
- A.R.R.T. Certification, if required by state or contract specifications
- Current CPR (if applicable)
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
