Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an outpatient setting with at least 2 years of experience and Cerner charting proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Primarily outpatient physical therapy with some inpatient care
• Located in a critical access hospital's therapy department
• Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with alternative shift options available Tuesday to Friday
• Requires day shifts with potential 8-hour or 10+ hour schedules
• Patient population includes both outpatient therapy clients and occasional med/surg inpatients
• Requires charting in Cerner EMR
• Floating to other areas within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital is required
• Responsibilities will include assessing, planning, and providing physical therapy to a variety of patients
• First-time travelers are encouraged to apply
• Must be willing to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• Up to 5 days of requested time off can be auto-approved
• Candidates are required to work two out of three major holidays
• Scrub or dress code requirements will be provided during orientation
• Former perm or PRN employees must be separated for at least 12 months prior to traveler consideration

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years recent physical therapy experience, 18 months is the minimum considered
• Current IN or Compact PT license required at time of start; license required if applicable
• Degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation
• Current AHA or RQI BLS certification required
• Experience using Cerner EMR required
• Must be able to care for both outpatient and some inpatient/med-surg patients
