Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Shelby, NC 28150 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Unit
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 8/25/2025 – End: 11/22/2025)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hours/week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1780 - $1910
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Holiday Expectations: Work 75% of holidays during contract
• Floating: Required within region and scope of practice
• Scrub Color: Green, hospital issued
• Parking: Free

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (LDRP proficiency required)
• Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or compact state (RN jobs in NC)
• BLS, ACLS, EFM, and NRP certifications required
• Strong labor management skills: cesarean section circulation, triage, pre-op, PACU, and newborn resuscitation
• Experience with Pitocin and epidural management
• Ability and willingness to float to other healthcare facilities within the region
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• First-time travel nurses not accepted

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive patient care for laboring mothers and newborns in an LDRP setting
• Manage labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care for 4–6 patients per shift
• Circulate for cesarean sections and assist in pre-op and PACU
• Perform triage and newborn resuscitation as needed
• Administer and monitor Pitocin and epidural procedures
• Collaborate with charge nurses, hospitalists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Float to other units or facilities within the region as required
• Document patient care using Epic EMR
