A Computer Tomography Technologist independently performs specialized CT imaging procedures ensuring high-quality diagnostic results. The role requires setting up patient schedules, using technical judgment for CT exams, and maintaining effective communication with healthcare teams. Certification and licensure are mandatory, with prior experience in radiologic technology preferred.
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and ingenuity. Makes independent value judgments when supervision is not available. Assumes responsibility for achieving quality work, setting up patient load and maintaining schedules. Has individual responsibility for specified CT procedures. Performs assigned duties promptly and efficiently. Complies with instructions from the supervisor to whom responsible. Maintains good working relationship with co-workers and other University Health employees, patients, doctors, and guests.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Registry by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists, and Licensed by the State of Texas (MRT) is required. One year of experience as a registered radiology technologist with a working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy is preferred.
