This position is for a Primary Care Assistant, including MA, LPN, or EMT/Paramedic roles, at Mercy Clinic providing patient preparation and clinical support in a primary care setting. Responsibilities include vital signs collection, medication reconciliation, in-office testing, administering vaccines, and coordinating care plans with providers. Candidates must have relevant certification, clinical experience, and work full-time assisting with preventative and acute patient care tasks using Epic systems.

Position Details:
Mercy Clinic Primary Care - Edmond I-35 North
Full-Time; 40 hours/week, M-F 8am-5pm
Accepting applications for MA, LPN, or EMT/Paramedic!
Prepares patient for visit with provider by completing Advanced Standard room process including entering the chief complaint; taking patient vital signs; reviewing patient history and allergies; completing a thorough medication reconciliation; working the Encounter Guide including helping to close any open care gaps such as fall risk, depression screening, breast cancer screening, colorectal cancer screening, and diabetic eye exams; rechecking elevated blood pressures; and completing needed documentation in Epic for yearly preventative visits as needed.
Assists with any needed in-office testing including, but not limited to, drawing blood, completing mental status exams, EKG’s, walking oxygen studies and point of care testing.
Administer vaccines and other injections within scope of practice.
Schedules follow up appointments when needed per office policy.
Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to monitor and coordinate delivery of the care plan.
Medical Assistant Qualifications:
Medical Assistant:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.
Certified Medical Assistant:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) or EMT/Paramedic is also accepted. Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
LPN Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
Licensure: Active LPN or RN
Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience preferred, particularly in a primary care office.
