American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring MI licensure and Level I trauma experience.
Responsibilities- Position is based in an Emergency Department within a Level I Trauma Center
- Frequent assignment to the behavioral health unit
- Patient ratios typically 1:5-6, occasionally as high as 1:8 during peak times and holidays
- Float to pediatric emergency unit may be required
- Day shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
- Every 4 weeks, scheduled to work 3 weekends (Fri-Sun), with variable days per weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic EMR system; Epic experience required or training provided during orientation
- Primary assignment may be in behavioral health section of the ED
- Role includes caring for trauma, stroke, cardiac, pediatric, and behavioral health patients
- Team environment with multidisciplinary support
- First-time travelers may be considered
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Maximum 5 days RTO per assignment; RTO must be submitted at application and additional RTO will not be approved
- RTO not permitted from 3/27–4/12
- Returning staff must have a one-year gap from previous employment
- Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
- Orientation includes Epic EMR training as needed
- Active unrestricted MI RN license required by start date; compact licenses not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of recent Level I trauma emergency department experience required
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
- ENPC certification preferred
- Must be able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
- Experience with continuous IV and procedural sedation preferred
- Triage experience preferred
- High school diploma or proof of HS education required
