Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical–Surgical Registered Nurse (Med/Surg RN) for a contract assignment in an acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, flexible with scheduling, and comfortable working rotating shifts while providing high-quality patient care to adult medical-surgical populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult Med/Surg patients
- Perform patient assessments, monitoring, and documentation
- Administer medications and treatments per provider orders
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality
- Adapt to rotating shifts, weekends, and varying patient acuity
Required Qualifications
- Active Hawaii RN license required prior to contract start
- Minimum 5 years of recent Medical–Surgical nursing experience
- Strong clinical judgment and time-management skills
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts and consecutive weekends
Certifications
- BLS/BCLS required
- ACLS required
- Additional certifications may be required or preferred per facility policy, including but not limited to:
- PALS
- NRP
- NIHSS
- CPI
- ENPC
- TNCC
- STABLE
- AWHONN / EFM
- Other specialty certifications as applicable
Equipment & Systems
- Cerner electronic medical record (EMR)
Additional Information
- Holiday pay applies only if the shift begins on the holiday
- Bilingual skills not required
