Opportunity:
Registered Nurse - PCU
Job Details:
• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (4x12s available upon request)
• Weekend requirement: either every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Patient ratio of 1:5 serving adults and geriatric patients
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Will be required to float within skillset
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Clinical skills include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy and phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, respiratory support, and rapid response team utilization
• Unit specializes in hospitalist medicine patients with renal and other medical diagnoses
• One bed dedicated to chronic vent patients
• Functions as alternative unit for gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and other surgical patients covered by hospitalists
• 28 hours of orientation provided
• First-time travelers accepted
• Locals not accepted (100-mile radius rule applies)

This facility is a private, not-for-profit, general acute care teaching hospital with 703 licensed beds. It serves as the region's only Level I Trauma Center for both adult and pediatric patients and operates as a certified stroke center. The hospital maintains teaching affiliations with multiple medical schools and has earned Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, recognizing excellence in nursing for over twenty years. The facility provides comprehensive medical services with extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
