Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for home health services in Hawaii, requiring 1 year of home health experience and a HI license.
Responsibilities
- Home health setting serving adult and geriatric patients in Kaua‘i
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00 to 16:30
- Occasional floating to Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island with expenses covered
- Productivity requirement of 25 units per week
- MatrixCare EMR documentation is used
- Provide OT assessments, develop and implement care plans, and deliver therapy to patients in their homes
- Educate patients and families on exercise programs, safety, and injury prevention
- Work with patients recovering from orthopedic, neurological, and chronic conditions such as COPD, CHF, and CVA
- Occasional floating to other islands may be required, with paid expenses
- First-time travelers are welcome
- Scrubs of any color and closed-toed shoes are required
- Preferred skills include wound care, acute care, lymphedema management, and neurodevelopmental techniques
Requirements
- Current BLS (AHA) certification required
- HI Occupational Therapist license required
- Minimum 1 year of home health experience required
- Experience in geriatrics, neurology, orthopedics, and adaptive devices required
- Skilled in home health assessments, plan of care, OASIS, discharge, and reassessments
- Ability to use MatrixCare EMR system
- Proficient with assistive devices, body mechanics, pain assessment, and vital signs
