This locum tenens position seeks a General Medicine Physician to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments on a PRN basis in Kansas. The role involves interview-based evaluations with some physical assessment, no treatment or prescribing, and timely submission of standardized reports. Candidates must be familiar with musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological conditions and have their own laptop for documentation.
Locum Tenens Opportunity: General Medicine Physician Specialty: General Medicine Assignment: As Needed Basis Details: Default Rate Type: Daily Emergency/Temp Privileges: No Shift Type: Days Shift Description: PRN - as needed basis Weekend Requirements: Able to work weekends, if desired/needed On-Call Requirements: None Overview: We are seeking General Medicine Providers to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams + Separation Health Assessments across the country. Assignment Details: Duration: PRN basis, ongoing Specialties Accepted: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or anyone with a background in general medicine or experience with compensation and pension Coverage Options: Two options available - Travel and perform exams at VES leased facility and/or schedule Veterans within your own practice Shift Options: Half days (4-hours) and/or full days (8-hours) Exam Type: One-time non-treatment C&P exams + separation health assessments Exam Format: Primarily interview-based with some physical assessment including range of motion testing and muscle strength testing Prescribing/Treatment: No prescribing or treatment involved Credentialing: Quick credentialing & onboarding process Certification: DMA certification available (can get CME credits) will need to obtain once privileged if not already certified Equipment: Use of Goniometer required Expertise Required: Familiarity with Musculoskeletal, Diabetes, and Cardio conditions. Proficiency in METs testing, evaluating, and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions. Technology: Own personal laptop (NO MACs) required for completing evaluations and submitting Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) Reporting: DBQs must be submitted within 48 hours upon exam completion - no narrative report. End product is completion of standardized form(s).
