Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position in California requiring an active CA RN license and critical care certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Emergency Department of a critical access hospital with 22 acute and 99 long-term care beds
- Night shift schedule from 4:00 pm to 4:30 am
- Patient population includes a wide variety of emergency and trauma cases
- May perform procedures such as EKGs, blood draws, and IV starts
- Collaboration with an emergency room team leader and acute care nurse
- Must be able to assess and treat patients rapidly, especially during acute illness or trauma
- Responsible for developing individualized plans of care and documenting interventions and patient responses
- Maintains professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with safety and infection control standards
- Expected to assist other departments when needed and adhere to the facility’s dress code
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required
- No COVID-19 vaccination requirement specified
Requirements
- Active CA RN license in good standing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC (NRP and TNCC may be obtained within one year of hire)
