Technician - Monitor I

Sign-on into a patient-centered health system caring for the community. Monitor Technician I; full-time daytime/rotation; on-site in Florida; permanent role. Requires sitting long periods to monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and respond to arrhythmias. - Monitor Technician certification - ECG/EKG competency and course completion - Minimum 6 months post-extern monitor tech experience (or 1 year VOCTECH equivalent) - Knowledge of cardiac anatomy/physiology and telemetry interpretation - Ability to work under stress, handle interruptions, and communicate effectively

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communications skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart in relation to waves, complexes, time and voltage as shown through the conduction system and strip interpretation.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Requires sitting for long period of time monitoring and interpreting patients' cardiac rhythms.Knowledge of telemetry services.Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in the workload and work schedules. Required Work Experience: Minimum (6) six months of experience required after completion of the Monitor Technician Extern program.Minimum of one (1) year experience in lieu of Vocation Technical (VOCTECH) in cases where the applicant is not a graduate of Monitor Technician Extern program. Other Information: Monitor Technician certification required.Electrocardiogram Competency (ECG/EKG) required.New Hires minimum of (6) six months experience required: If incumbent has no prior work experience; they will be placed in the Monitor Technician - Extern role.Additional Education Info: Successful completion of ECG/EKG interpretation coursework required.
