The role requires an MD or DO with psychiatry training, a valid Tennessee medical license, and at least 1-3 years of clinical experience in outpatient psychiatry.

Position OverviewA Behavioral Health outpatient clinic serving adult Veterans is seeking a Locum Tenens Psychiatrist for onsite coverage in McMinnville, Tennessee. This role supports ongoing mental and behavioral health services while the clinic recruits for a permanent provider.
This assignment requires a minimum 3-month commitment, with the option to extend or transition to a longer-term arrangement.
Travel, lodging, and rental car are fully covered.

Schedule: Monday Friday, 8 hours per day
Duration: 3-month minimum; ongoing until permanent hire

Patient Population: Adult Veterans
Pay Rate:$140 $150/hr
Travel & Lodging: Covered by client
Start Date: As soon as credentialed ( days typical)
Perform psychiatric evaluations and ongoing behavioral health management
Diagnose and treat a wide range of mental and behavioral health conditions
Conduct individual, group, family, and couples therapy as appropriate
Order and interpret diagnostic tests; provide follow-up and treatment planning
Collaborate with primary care clinicians, nurses, and support staff to coordinate care
Review outside medical records and co-manage care within established guidelines
Complete documentation using VISTA/CPRS
Provide patient education related to treatment plans, wellness, and prevention
Participate in case management activities as needed
Maintain compliance with all clinic and regulatory standards
Ensure timely completion of clinical reminders and required reporting
Maintain confidentiality and provide high-quality, respectful patient interactions
MD or DO with training in Psychiatry
Board Certified preferred; Board Eligible may be considered with experience
Active, unrestricted Tennessee medical license
DEA, BLS, and ACLS
Minimum 1 3 years of clinical experience
Ability to work independently in an outpatient psychiatry setting
Collaborative primary care and behavioral health team
RN and MA support
Scheduled appointments with occasional walk-ins
No inpatient duties, no nights, and no call
